CARE is thrilled to
have joined forces with the Corfu Donkey Rescue team. Headed by its
founder, Judy Quinn, they provide a safe haven for neglected, abandoned
and unwanted donkeys. The ultimate fate of all retired and injured
animals on Corfu has always been the Italian meat market or the donkeys
are just left out in the bushes to die. Now the donkeys have an alternative
and can enjoy medical care and a peaceful retirement. CDR also runs
an emergency first aid scheme and provides free hoof trimming for
the working donkeys and advice for the owners in the villages all
over the Island.
